TB1: Quantum Field Theory (Quantum Electrodynamics) – News

  • Until further notice, due to the current Coronavirus Crisis, the lecture and the tutorials will be held online. We will use the software ZOOM for the online courses. You can find information on how to use and download ZOOM here (in German): https://www.it-servicedesk.uni-muenchen.de/it-angebote/zoom/index.html

  • You will receive the ZOOM-links, which you need to join the online meetings for the lecture and the tutorials, only if you register on LSF: https://lsf.verwaltung.uni-muenchen.de/

  • The tutorials will start in the second week of the semester.

  • For those of you, who have not received the ZOOM-link, yet, please write an email to max.warkentin@physik.uni-muenchen.de or georgios.karananas@physik.uni-muenchen.de.
  • In order to find an exam date which is convenient for the majority of the students, we have created a Doodle poll; the link has been sent via email. Please insert your matriculation number as your participant name, otherwise your vote WILL NOT BE COUNTED. It is possible to vote for multiple options. Please select all options convenient for you, in order to allow for an exam date that favors the largest number of students. The deadline for voting is on January 31st (31/01/2021) at 23:59 Berlin time. If you haven't received the link, please write an email to the tutors.
  • The exam will take place on 19 February 2021 at 2pm. It will be held online/at home in the form of an open-book exam. To participate in the exam, students need to register until 18 February, 23:59. The registration will be possible via the LSF starting from 8 February. All relevant information regarding the exam will be posted here, soon.
  • You can find all the necessary information about the upcoming exam here. To get an idea of what you might expect, you can have a look at the previous year's exam. Note, however that this year’s exam is not an ordinary in-person exam, so it will be adjusted accordingly and will obviously differ from the previous year's exam.
  • The link for the Sync+Share upload form has already been sent to all registered students of the course by mail to the email address you've used to register for the course. This is your campus.lmu.de email. You can log in it at https://login.portal.uni-muenchen.de/login/loginapp/login.html
Beware that the forwarding option appears to currently not work, and requires to be reset.
  • Professor Dvali has decided to extend the duration of the exam until February 20, 15.00. So, you now have 24 hours to complete the exam (plus additional 30 minutes to upload your results to Sync+Share).
  • Here you can download the password protected exam. The password will be announced and sent to you at 14.30 today. The password is &2O!*jxdaYzdkvoq
  • The exam has been graded. The results have been sent to all students, who participated in the exam.
  • The exam review will take place on 30 March 2021 from 2pm to 4 pm via ZOOM. Please note that due to the fact that the review will have to take place online, it might be organizationally difficult to answer all questions from the students individually. For this reason, the solution to the exam (together with the ZOOM link) has been sent to all participating students, so that only those students have to attend the exam review who want to raise an issue or still have questions.
