Central tutorial:
Wednesdays from 12:00 c.t.—14:00, A348 (Theresienstr. 37)
There will be no central tutorial in the first week of lectures.
This lecture will cover topics at the interface between geometry, topology, statistical physics, and biophysics. There are some of the topics we will discuss:
- Differential geometry of curves and surfaces
- Tensor calculus, manifest equations, and topological invariants
- Physics of polymer chains and lipid membranes
- Topologically protected states of matter and beyond
