Numerical Quantum Physics – Exam

General information

The exams are going to be taken via a coding project and a subsequent oral discussion (~20 minutes) of the implementation and algorithms. The processing time for the coding project is from Monday, 17th of July, 12PM (noon!) until Friday, 21st of July, 12AM (midnight!). For the oral discussion, the appointments will be organized after the submission of the solution. The topics are chosen according to the methods discussed on the exercise sheets and can be one out of the following

• Exact diagonalization
• Matrix-product states
• Quantum Monte-Carlo
• Machine learning

Students registering for the exam can provide preferences for one or more topics, however, the actual assignment is only announced together with the exam's problem sheet. For each registered participant, there will be a passphrase protected Nextcloud folder containing the problem sheet. The solutions can be uploaded and updated into that folder until the end of the processing time.

In order to register for the exam, please fill in this document and submit it. The link will be valid until Wednesday, 21st of June, 12AM (midnight!), afterwards, registration is no longer possible.

Important: Please fill in the document completely otherwise it will not be considered as valid registration. Also, please submit your registration only once!
