TVI/TMP-TB3: Supersymmetry – Overview

  • Overview

Contents:
The course will focus on theoretical aspects of supersymmetry:
- SUSY algebras and its representations
- Supersymmetric field theories and superfield formalism
- Extended Supersymmetry
- Non-perturbative Theory
- Geometry of Moduli Spaces
- Duality

Here is a plan from an earlier lecture and some literature. This semesters course will be similar, but also with some changes.

Requirements:
The minimal requirements for the course are classical field theory, in particular gauge theory with Non-Abelian gauge groups. In the second half of the semester, quantum effects in supersymmetric theories will be discussed, so some knowledge of such effects in non-supersymmetric quantum field theory will be very useful.

Please consult the plan from an earlier lecture for more details on the contents (see link).

Corona special:
For the moment, the forseen procedure for this lecture will be the following:

For each week you will get specific reading material, that you are supposed to work through within this week by yourself. To get access to the reading material,

you need to register yourself in the LFS.
Once you have been accepted in the LSF, register at

https://moodle.lmu.de/course/view.php?id=8424

If you are accepted in the LSF but have not received the registration code already, please contact me under mayr@physik.uni-muenchen.de.

While there are no regular lectures, you are encouraged to send any questions about the material to mayr@physik.uni-muenchen.de, e.g. also in the form of hand written equations. Please do not hesitate to do so (there are no "stupid" questions!).

There will also be a moodle forum to discuss.

The procedure for the tutorial will be announced soon.

For further questions please contact me under the above email address.
