Recent LHC Higgs Search Results from a Theory Perspective

We briefly review some facts on the discovery of a new state with a mass around 126 GeV. We discuss this discovery in the framework of the Standard Model and of Supersymmetry. In particular, the implications in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model as well as for future high-energy experiments are discussed.
