Status and Prospects of the Belle II-Experiment at KEK

Precision measurements in the flavour sector of the Standard Model of particle physics offer an alternative approach in understanding physics contribution beyond the Standard Model. The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB accelerator at KEK will follow this approach. Data taking is expected to start in 2016. The physics at the Belle II experiment as well as the design of the upgraded detector will be discussed in the presentation.
